The joys of picture book and middle-grade novel writing are many,
and the revision process can sometimes be joyful as well,
especially when I am able to trim unnecessary words effectively,
or I think of a better way to express something.
But some days I can get myself all twisted up,
unsure if it is funny enough, or scary enough,
or sweet enough, etc.
At which point I should just close my laptop
and take a break.
But, if I have a deadline
and need to keep revising until it feels right,
The angst comes creeping in.
Today is Haiku Saturday. Today I experienced angst while revising. So... a haiku...
Revision Angst
My story needs work.
I change it, unsure, wondering.
Is it good enough?
