When I was little, I dreamed of having a pet skunk. My dream came true in my late teens when I found a real live skunk in a pet store, named him Skunkly, and brought him home to meet my pet iguana, hamster, gerbil, parakeet, cat, and dog.

I now live with one adorable scruffy pup. Just one. The wild animals that saunter or fly past my porch are not pets, but they are fun to watch and listen to as I write.

My debut picture book, IF YOU MEET A FAIRY, will be released in the Spring of 2027 by the Doubleday imprint of Penguin Random House. The ideas for most of my stories are inspired by the wild, wonderful children and many animals I have known through the years.
